Brightwater Lodge is an excellent place to stay, within walking distance of the beach, with Table Mountain, Cape Point and other Nature reserves close by and Cape Town a very short distance away. You could not ask for friendlier people to run the place. We stayed with our two kids for five nights, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

Very amiable and superfriendly staff, beautiful location very close to the market which is what we wanted. Based really close to the centre of Hout Bay, Brightwater Lodge, and restaurants, super spare, buses, beach, touriste bus, sailling school, surf school.

The location was perfect for our family, as it was within walking distance of both Hout Bay Harbour and the captivating Beau Constantia vineyard. The kids had a blast exploring the bustling harbour and we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at Beau Constantia, sampling their exquisite wines. The lodge itself provided digital entertainment options that kept the whole family entertained during downtime, ensuring we had a memorable and enjoyable stay.
My children wanted a small play area or playground on the property.

Clean, and very friendly personal service.
Not a place to stay if you want to sleep late as the skylight windows do not have blinds or curtains and heats up the room very early. In winter it would be a great stay.

It was a good location and the owners were very friendly and helpful.
The room itself, while adequate and comfortable, could have had a chair or two to sit down, we could only sit on the bed. Also the shower/bath was dificult to access (we had to climb over the bath to the shower) not easy for older people such as ourselves. There was only one widow which opened, so the room also got a little stuffy.

We stayed at Brightwater Lodge for our vacation in Cape Town. Alex, the host, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the local attractions. The hospitality provided by Lilly and the rest of the staff was exceptional. The house had a great energy and the rooms were comfortable and serviced daily. It's conveniently located near the center and a short walk or Uber ride away from everything. We felt like personal friends were hosting us and even managed to squeeze in a swim at the nearby beach. Highly recommended!
Recommend this hotel.

Located near the harbor, this place has a lot to offer tourists. the main attractions, restaurants, and beaches are all close by, making it a good spot for bike riders. the room and bathroom were clean and well maintained, offering comfortable and relaxing accommodation. the breakfast was very satisfying at a reasonable price. the staff was friendly and welcoming. Guests enjoyed the facility of a small fridge in the room, perfect for bikers who need to keep water and snacks handy.
The privacy of the guests was compromised, with the management going through the personal belongings of some guests without permission.

The house had an interesting design, with comfortable and well-serviced rooms. It was conveniently located near the center of town and easily accessible by walking or ride-sharing. the hosts were friendly and provided helpful recommendations for activities in the area.
The shower facilities were poorly designed, making it difficult for those with mobility issues to access. the sofa bed was not properly prepared and was uncomfortable and grubby.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
